Ashley Dupre Hits Back at the Haters

Tells all the ladies out there to "Get real and get over yourself"

With Eliot "Client 9" Spitzer back on the front page of New York's tabloids, ex-call girl Ashley Dupre has taken the opportunity to set the record straight on a number of things.

"I read the front page of the NY Post this week and was happy to see that Mr. Spitzer is moving on with his life and considering getting back into politics," opens Dupre's screed posted to Russel Simmons' Global Grind.

Unfortunately, Dupre doesn't feel she's being afforded the same chance to get her life on track that the disgraced former governor is enjoying.

Tired of being known as "woman who brought down the Governor," Dupre pointed out that "I didn’t call the tabloids, I didn’t blow the whistle and I didn’t save 'the dress.'"

Of accusations that she has been "'cashing in' on the scandal – wrong again." She goes on to claim that she never sold photos of herself (though others did), posed nude, did any reality TV or sold any of her music in the wake of the scandal, which "closed far more doors than it ever opened."

If you're looking for someone eager to cash in on her story, Dupre suggests you look to book publishers, whom she dismisses as "worse than the tabloids," if you can imagine something that awful. It seems more than one publisher has begged for a tell-all about the “exciting the life of a high-priced NYC escort.”

But Dupre saved most of her anger for the woman of New York City and beyond whom she says "just love to judge."

"I know many women who target guys with money and use them to get these things," wrote Dupree. "They toy with them, flirt, go on dates, have sex and then drop hints about that new dress at the store down the street or being short on rent money – and the guys deliver it.  Is what I did any more dishonest?  Get real and get over yourself."

The whole screed ends, of course, with a plug for a "Rough mix of a song I am working on that tells a little bit of my story" --  not that she's trying to cash in on all the attention. Heavens no.
