Another NYC Connection for Supreme Court Nominee

From sixth grade student to reporter covering teacher's daughter

Better show your teacher some respect.

You never know when one of her kids will grow up to sit on the Supreme Court.

Such is the small-world case here, as this humble reporter discovered when President Obama chose NYC native Elena Kagan to replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens.

A little searching through some old albums unearthed a picture: Gloria Kagan standing with her 11- and 12-year-old students at Hunter College Elementary School.

One of those sixth-graders was in the "small kids sit on the floor" category: Yes, yours truly.
