Access to quality healthcare at a reduced cost -- that is the goal behind a $6 billion dollar investment the GE Corporation is making in new and innovative healthcare technology.
Today in Midtown Manhattan GE showed off some of the technology that will be part of its "Healthymagination" initiative, including medical devices designed to improve care and computer systems aimed at cutting medical administrative costs.
GE has also set up a $250 million investment fund for small healthcare companies.
The corporation also announced a $25 million grant program for neighborhood clinics around the country.
Four clinics in New York City will be receiving $1 million from that program, which includes the Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center in Brooklyn.
