Daughters Find Dad a Kidney on Craigslist

Need a donor?

advertisement

Craigslist is the home for all sorts of online classifieds – personal ads, jobs, services, apartment, furniture and home purchases, etc., etc. But “seeking kidney for Dad” is in a category all of its own.

Sisters Jennifer, Cynthia and Heather Flood were desperate for a kidney for their father, though, so they posted an ad – “Please Help Us, My Dad needs a Kidney” -- in the volunteer section of the site, according to the New York Post.

Surprisingly, they got more than 100 responses to the post, including one by a woman who was a match for their father’s O-negative blood type.

"[My daughters] came up with the [Craigslist] idea," Daniel, the father, told the Post. "I'm not into computers, but the younger generation is. I was game for anything except dialysis."

The girls’ Dad was first diagnosed with chronic kidney failure more than a year ago, and thanks to the kidney donation – a match made on Craigslist – things are looking up.
