A judge has granted Jennifer Love Hewitt a restraining order, Access Hollywood has learned.
An attorney for Hewitt was in a Burbank court on Monday morning seeking the order against David Nolte.

A judge ruled Nolte must stay away from the actress for three years.
Hewitt was not present at the hearing.

This isn’t the first time Hewitt has been forced to deal with an overzealous individual.
In September 2003, Diana Napolis, then 47, pleaded guilty to felony stalking, after saying she believed the actress could read her mind and planned to harm her.
Napolis was treated for mental illness after being arrested for making death threats against Hewitt.

According to an Associated Press report at the time, Napolis confronted Hewitt at a July 2000 appearance at a San Diego radio station. Court documents indicated that she also yelled “Murderer!” and “Killer!” at the actress outside the Kodak Theater in Hollywood in 2002.

The “Ghost Whisperer” star is the latest actress to be granted a restraining order in recent weeks. Alyssa Milano and Kristen Dunst were both granted restraining orders against individuals in December 2008.
