From June 6th to 11th, interested parties can bid online to have a meal with the legendary investor. The lunch will be held, as it has for the past few years, at the Smith and Wollensky steakhouse on 49th and 3rd. The lucky winner gets to bring seven friends to pow-wow with the third-richest man in the world. Before you fork over your cash, don't expect the meat to be cheap -- the minimum asking bid on eBay is $25,000. Plus, all bidders must be pre-qualified.
As of Monday morning, no bids have been submitted for this "chance of a lifetime," but one can never know who might be eyeing this unique opportunity.
Canada-based Salida Capital cinched the win last year with a $1.68 million dollar bid. That's quite the bargain when compared to the $2.1 million dollar amount paid by Hong Kong investor Zhao Danyang, the big spender in 2008. Interestingly, three out of the past four winners have been from outside of the US, reports the Associated Press.
The final price of this year's meal will be determined Friday. All proceeds will go directly to the Glide Foundation, a charity that helps the homeless in San Francisco.
