Gov. David Paterson's tax details have been released. They probably won't help his still-dwindling poll numbers.
Gov. David Paterson and his wife had taxable income of $287,567 in 2008, paying $65,754 in federal taxes and $27,610 in state and local taxes, according to their returns.
The information released Tuesday shows that Paterson had a total salary of $169,969 last year as lieutenant governor and then governor. The returns show Michelle Paige Paterson had a total salary of $122,899 working at the Health Plan of New York, plus $9,000 as a subcontractor for the nonprofit National Urban Tech Center.
The couple owed $182 in state taxes and overpaid $4,300 in federal taxes that was applied to the following year.
The Patersons made donations of $1,000 each to 10 charities. They report a $5,057 loss from expenses exceeding the rent collected for their suburban Albany home after they moved to the governor's mansion.
