Meltdown! Ice Sculpture Carved to Spell ‘Economy'

Financial meltdown fuels economy

The financial meltdown is fueling creativity.

On Wednesday, two artists installed a 1,500-pound ice sculpture carved to spell the word "economy" in Manhattan's financial district.

It will remain at Foley Square until it melts -- about 24 hours.

Artists Nora Ligorano and Marshall Reese call it "Main Street Meltdown."

On their Web site, the artists say that "to see the word 'economy' melting down is representational of an extreme time."
