City-wide Campaign Warns of Foreclosure Scams

Queens Councilman Eric Gioia and two community groups have announced a new initiative to help foreclosure victims avoid scams.

Gioia, the Neighborhood Economic Advocacy Development Project and Communities Homeowners and Neighbors Gaining Economic Rights announced Sunday a city-wide campaign to warn homeowners about possible mortgage scams.

New Yorkers who are facing foreclosure need to be “wary of salesmen and solicitations that offer false aid.”

There are several organizations that can help New Yorkers facing foreclosure.
