Queens Councilman Eric Gioia and two community groups have announced a new initiative to help foreclosure victims avoid scams.
Gioia, the Neighborhood Economic Advocacy Development Project and Communities Homeowners and Neighbors Gaining Economic Rights announced Sunday a city-wide campaign to warn homeowners about possible mortgage scams.
New Yorkers who are facing foreclosure need to be “wary of salesmen and solicitations that offer false aid.”
