Despite the warm Mexican sun, Rihanna looks rather glum in this front page photo in the Daily News.

Rihanna has emerged from seclusion and the first photos of the songstress are a far cry from leaked police evidence photos that showed her battered and bruised.

With the bruises healed and the swelling down, Rihanna's beauty shines once again as she was photographed soaking up the Mexican sun at a private beachside villa.

But the pictures, taken just days after she celebrated her 21st birthday, show the singer to be a bit world-weary.

Rihanna's sullen look in the snaps obtained exclusively by the Daily News seem to show that the beauty is still coping with trauma and torment after suffering an alleged attack by Brown, who has reportedly enrolled in anger management courses after the incident.

Last week concerned friends told Us Weekly that the were concerned about the singer who was reportedly "torn" about cooperating with the police investigation into the Feb. 8th attack. Brown was arrested on the suspicion of making criminal threats, but police are said to be pursuing more serious charges.  A concerned friends said the crestfallen beauty is "more quiet than I've ever seen her."

"I mean, damn, her eye's black and the sides of her face are all f----d up," a friend of the singer told Us Weekly as quoted by the New York Daily News. "But she keeps on saying she still loves him."
