Sunday Talk Show Tip Sheet

Inauguration week slate of guests

President-elect Barack Obama helps John King, host of CNN’s “State of the Union,” jump out of the gates Sunday with a sit-down interview for the new all-morning show.

King interviewed Obama Friday after his economic speech in Bedford Heights, Ohio, and the interview will be reprised on Sunday. But plenty of Obama’s top aides will be live elsewhere on the Sunday before Inauguration Day.

Obama’s White House chief of staff, former Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.), headlines NBC’s “Meet the Press.” And senior adviser David Axelrod sits down with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week” and with King on CNN.

“Fox News Sunday” lands incoming White House press secretary Robert Gibbs ahead of his first briefing, just days after counterpart Dana Perino gave her last in the Bush White House. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), fresh off an eventful first two weeks in Congress, also makes an appearance.

Lawrence Summers, who’ll direct the National Economic Council in the new Obama White House, leads CBS’s “Face the Nation,” as Obama’s $825 billion economic stimulus package makes its way through Congress. Host Bob Schieffier also lands Georgetown University’s Michael Eric Dyson and Slate’s John Dickerson.

Finally, New Hampshire Sen. Judd Gregg , the ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, stops by C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers,” where he’ll be questioned by Shailagh Murray of The Washington Post and Martin Kady II of Politico.
