A former aide to John Edwards claims the ex-senator and his mistress made a sex tape, according to someone who saw the book proposal.

Former aide Andrew Young -- who signed a deal with St. Matin's Press to pen a tell-all book -- says in his proposal that he is not the father of mistress Rielle Hunter's daughter and that the ex-senator, who has denied paternity, is the dad, a source told the New York Daily News.

Young claimed the baby was his and took in then-pregnant Hunter to live with his wife, Cheri, and their three children. Edwards began the long-term affair with Hunter during his 2008 presidential campaign.

The former aide moved to a new home in California after Hunter delivered the baby and was unpacking when he stumbled on a video tape, the News reported.

The alleged sex tape shows Edwards and Hunter, who was hired by the campaign to videotape the candidate's campaign, according to the paper.

Hunter also confided to Young that she and Edwards talked about getting hitched if the candidate's wife Elizabeth Edwards, who was suffering from cancer, were to die, an insider told the Daily News.

Elizabeth said in her memoir "Resilience" that news of the affair made her throw up in a bathroom and scream -- and that she didn't know her philandering husband was having a long-term affair with Hunter.

"I wanted him to be faithful to be," she said. "It was enormously important to me."

She has also said Hunter's daughter looks nothing like her children.

"I've seen a picture of the baby," Elizabeth told Oprah in May. "I have no idea. It doesn't look like my children, but I don't have any idea."

Young also claims in the proposal that Edwards often disagreed with running mate John Kerry during the 2004 presidential campaign. And President Obama promised Edwards the attorney general position if he didn't get the vice presidential nomination before Edwards fessed up to his tryst, according to Young.
