Don't expect the commander-in-chief to be sporting skinny jeans any time soon.

President Obama admitted today he looked a "little frumpy" during the MLB All-Star Game in St. Louis when he sported a pair of unflattering high-waisted blue jeans to the pitchers mound to throw out the ceremonial first pitch last week.

"Here's my attitude: Michelle, she looks fabulous," Obama told NBC in an interview that aired Tuesday. "For people who want a president to look great in tight jeans, I'm sorry."

On NBC's "Today" show, Obama said he wore the much-criticized baggy "mom jeans" that drew comparisons to uber-geek Urkel because "those jeans are comfortable."

"I'm a little frumpy," he said. "I got a hard time from all sorts of blogs who said I looked like Urkel," Obama said.

Obama, typically well-dressed during public appearances, sauntered out to the pitchers mound in a White Sox jacket, and apparently the MLB was none too pleased about that

According to adviser David Axelrod, MLB wanted Obama to wear the standard All-Star jacket. Obama wasn't interested, and Axelrod reported that "a big controversy" ensued behind the scenes.

Fashion bloggers and corporate suits may rip the president for his fashion choices -- but Obama had no apologies.
