Police say Georgia Professor George Zinkhan, who had been missing since killing three people April 25, partially buried himself before shooting himself in the head.

The Georgia professor who police say say shot and killed his wife and two others and then vanished last month killed himself, police said yesterday.

George Zinkhan's body was found partially buried in a shallow grave cops now say he had dug before shooting himself in the head. Zinkhan, 57, a marketing professor at University of Georgia, killed his wife, Marie Bruce, after shooting her friend, Clemson University Professor Tom Tanner on April 25. Zinkhan later gunned down another man as his children waited in a car, then dropped them off at a neighbor's house and disappeared.

He was the subject of a nationwide manhunt, as speculation percolated that he might flee to Amsterdam, where he once taught.

Cops found Zinkhan's wrecked Jeep and passport a week later in a ravine near his home.

It was unclear when Zinkhan killed himself, and police said he did not leave a suicide note.
