The parties' national conventions -- Dems, two weeks from now in Denver; GOPs, three weeks from now in St. Paul -- are the most sustained chance they'll have before Election Day to woo viewers at home.
So they choose a theme each night that they hope, in toto, will present a face that both tickles their core supporters and woos swing voters.
The Democratic National Convention Committee announced its themes today, and a little bird filled in the tentative Republican themes:
MONDAY
Democrats: One Nation
Republicans: Service
TUESDAY
Democrats: Renewing America’s Promise
Republicans: Reform
WEDNESDAY
Democrats: Securing America’s Future
Republicans: Prosperity
THURSDAY
Democrats: Change You Can Believe In
Republicans: Peace
