Three teens were charged Sunday with fatally shooting a young wife who refused to hand over her purse during a holdup in front of her husband last week.
Mohammed, 23, was gunned down in front Shazam Khan in Hollis on March 13 as they were walking on 204th Street near their home about 8:30 p.m.
The teens had been driving around Hollis looking for a victim when they spotted Mohammed carrying a purse, according to the criminal complaint.
The three robbers told her to give up the bag.
Mohammed refused and got into a tug of war over the pocketbook, pulling one of the suspects to the ground.
In the struggle, suspect Ian Green grew nervous and said he accidentally fired his 9 mm pistol, striking Mohammed once in the chest, the complaint said. She was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital Center.
Inside the purse was an iTouch, which the killers threw away because it was missing the battery and back piece, the complaint said.
Charged with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon were: Green, of Queens and Corey Brown, of Brooklyn, both 17, and Tiyquon Hodges, 16, of Queens.
The teens were arraigned late Sunday in Queens Criminal Court and held without bail. Their defense attorney had no comment and they could not be reached.
