Lane, Dennehy Set for “Iceman Cometh” at BAM

Nathan Lane and Brian Dennehy will reprise their recent Chicago performance in Eugene O’Neill’s “The Iceman Cometh” at BAM's Harvey Theater in 2015.

Scott Rudin produces the revival, which will run at BAM beginning Feb. 5. Ticket sale dates will be announced in the fall.

Dennehy and Lane appeared together in the Goodman Theatre’s 2012 production of O’Neill’s masterwork, and will reunite with the original Chicago cast for the six-week run at BAM.

Lane plays Theodore “Hickey” Hickman, while Dennehy is cast as Larry Slade. The nearly five-hour drama follows the patrons of a New York bar early in the 20th century.

Director Robert Falls, whose productions of O’Neill’s works with longtime collaborator Dennehy have been the hallmark of his 27-year artistic directorship of the Goodman, said in a statement: “Our production in Chicago was one of the highlights of my tenure at the Goodman, and we’re thrilled to share it with New York audiences.”
