First Lady of U.K. Theater to Perform at New York's Town Hall

Musical theater’s original Eva Peron and first Grizabella has scheduled a one-night performance in New York for March 9 at Town Hall on W. 43rd St.

Elaine Paige, the five-time Olivier Award nominee who originated the famous roles from “Evita” and “Cats” in London’s West End, promises an evening’s journey through her career, with songs from those popular musicals, along with selections from “Chess,” “Sunset Boulevard” and more.

Paige was most recently seen on Broadway in the revival of “Follies,” for which she received a Grammy and Drama Desk nomination.

The concert is part of Paige’s first U.S. national tour. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets, $56.50-$111.50, available through the Town Hall box office or Ticketmaster, 800-982-2787.
