    While you were tearing up at the last 15 minutes of "Rocky" the musical, here's what was happening this week In the Wings. 

    Laura Benanti will host the 59th Annual Drama Desk Awards. The Tony-winning actress, most recently of NBC’s “The Sound of Music Live,” will bring her musical comedy talent to the June 1 show. The Drama Desk Awards honor outstanding achievement by professional theater artists on Broadway, Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway. [More info]

    Jukebox musical “Piece of My Heart”will play Off-Broadway Signature Center this summer. The show, about the life of songwriter and record producer Bert Berns, will feature hits like “Twist and Shout,” “I Want Candy,” “Hang On, Sloppy” and the title song, made popular by Janis Joplin.     The Manhattan Theater Club has announced the first three shows of their 2014-15 season. The season will begin with a new Broadway play starring Blythe Danner from Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies called “The County House.” The rest of the season is expected to be announced shortly.     “Sondheimas” celebrates Stephen Sondheim’s Birthday like the national holiday it should be. Why commemorate Sondheim’s birthday only on milestone years? 54 Below’s “Three Wishes for Sondheimas” commemorates the annual event, falling on March 22nd, through a night of musical performance, storytelling, and… puppetry?     Citi Bike has launched a new program called Bike to Broadway, which unlocks Broadway discounts for members. The program kicks off this month, where users can purchase tickets to “Once” for as low at $49. Bike to Broadway continues through September, with participating shows like “Motown,” “Rocky” and “Pippin.” [More info]
