Kelsey Grammer Taking Temporary Leave from “Finding Neverland”

Kelsey Grammer will take a temporary leave from the new Broadway musical “Finding Neverland,” producers said Saturday.

The actor, best known for his years playing Frasier Crane on TV’s “Cheers” and “Frasier,” will depart the production in mid-July -- though no exact departure date has been set. He’ll return to the show on Sept. 13.

No reason was given for Grammer’s leave.

Grammer, who plays Charles Frohman and Captain Hook in the show, will be replaced by Australian actor Anthony Warlow, who made his Broadway debut in the 2012 revival of “Annie,” playing Daddy Warbucks.

In a statement, Warlow said that the Broadway production of “Finding Neverland” has “rekindled my love for Musical Theatre.”

“Finding Neverland” is playing an open-ended run at Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
