Nicollette Sheridan Nixes “Desperate Housewives” Return

"They killed her," actress says

Don't call it a comeback for Nicollette Sheridan.

The 47-year-old actress says she is not reprising her character on "Desperate Housewives" because, well, Edie Britt is dead.

Producer Marc Cherry floated a plan to honor all of the characters from Wisteria Lane during the final season of “Desperate Housewives,” but Sheridan says count her out from the ABC series.

“Unfortunately they killed her, she’s dead,” Sheridan told "Access Hollywood" Live.

Sheridan was promoting her new Hallmark Channel movie, “Honeymoon For One,” said.

Cherry told reporters at the Television Critics Association Summer Session last week he hoped to being all the show's past stars together for one last blast. But even he acknowledged that bringing Britt back from the grave might be tricky.

“I don’t know how I would do that,” Cherry said in response to a question from a reporter about Nicollette’s character coming back or paying tribute to her. “But I have an idea for the last episode, in which I want to pay homage to everyone who’s been there.”
