Kim, who just completed her first few days on the "Grey's Anatomy" set in Los Angeles, explained that Teddy's past is intertwined with Kevin McKidd's character, Dr. Owen Hunt.
"She was in Iraq with Owen. She's a cardiac surgeon. She's really good at what she does. There'll be some interesting stuff between Teddy, Cristina [Yang] and Owen," Kim recently told Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello.
The actress, who has also starred in "Lipstick Jungle," "24," and "Third Watch," said she doesn't know all the details about Teddy, but "There's definitely a hint of a triangle," with Owen and Christina.
Kim said she doesn't know how long she'll be at Seattle Grace, but is thrilled to be a part of the hit ABC show, now in its sixth season.
"It's sort of a similar situation to when I joined '24'. You just don't know," Kim said of how long she is staying. "I'm recurring, but I don't know the [exact] length. It's interesting because Teddy is in the same situation. It creates an exciting dynamic because it forces me to be very present and enjoy playing this really great character.
