Jon Stewart Speaks About Rick Sanchez

Jon Stewart had his say about the matter surrounding former CNN anchor Rick Sanchez’s comments by delivering some zingers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On Comedy Central’s “Night of Too Many Stars” event at New York’s Beacon Theater last night, the host of "The Daily Show" delivered a monologue in which he also addressed the issue.

During the event, which raises money for autism education, Stewart said that people should donate for the cause. He said: “If you went on radio and said the Jews control the media…you may want to hold onto your money.”

CNN recently fired Sanchez over comments he made to a SiriusXM radio show alleging that Stewart was a bigot and that the network was run by Jews.

Stewart also said that if Sanchez was correct in his assessment about the Jews, then the ex-CNN anchor could apologize “and we’ll hire him back.”

The Hollywood Reporter added that David Letterman made a surprise appearance at the event and told Stewart that he was in town “helping Rick Sanchez clean out his office.”

The event will broadcast on Comedy Central on Oct. 21.
