Brooklyn Decker on Roddick Romance: “He Got his Agent to Call my Agent”

S.I. swimsuit model mocks "chivalrous" hubby

Sports Illustrated’s newest swimsuit cover girl, Brooklyn Decker, says her marriage to tennis ace Andy Roddick began with a phone call – between their agents.

“It’s a very chivalrous story actually,” Decker said in her first sitdown with David Letterman on Tuesday. “He got his agent to call my agent.”

On Monday, the 22-year-old blonde stunner was propelled into the ranks of an elite club of supermodels that includes Bar Rafaeli, Heidi Klum, Elle Macpherson and Tyra Banks when her sizzling S.I. cover photo was revealed during Letterman’s “Late Show.”

Moments before taping her sitdown with Dave for Tuesday’s show, the bikini model tweeted that she was “shaking” with nervousness, HuffPo reported.

If that was the case, Decker showed no unease on stage as she continued to send up her husband.

She joked that Roddick’s “chivalry just wooed me” and she decided early on he would be the one she would marry – which prompted Letterman to ask whether her courtship story seemed like “procurement.”

“It wasn’t like ‘I want that one,’ [that he] picked me out of a catalog,” Decker said, adding that Roddick used to listen to her host a football show on SI.com.

“He had heard me talk before,” Decker added.

Asked whether she plays tennis with Roddick, Decker said she did not.

“You know I’m pretty competitive when it comes to sports,” she said. “I figure if it’s something I can’t beat him at then why do it – which is why I model.”

As part of Decker’s S.I. media tour Decker is set to appear later this week on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and on “Ellen,” among other gigs, People reported.
