Irish singer Sinead O'Connor has been writing disturbing cries for help on her Twitter page.

Things have gone from head-scratching to heartbreaking for Irish singer Sinead O'Connor.

The 45-year-old took to Twitter to plead for help following her third apparent suicide attempt. The singer, who has been diagnosed as bipolar, reportedly attempted to kill herself while recovering in an Irish hospital for a broken ankle. Just a week prior, she took an overdose of pills while in Los Angeles. She also attempted to end her own life back in 1999, on her 33rd birthday.

"i realize i will be in trouble 4 doing this but...ireland is a VERY hard place to find help in. So having tried other ways 1st im asking," wrote O'Connor. "does any1 know a psychiatrist in dublin or wicklow who could urgently see me today please?'

She adds, cryptically, "im really un-well...and in danger."

She goes on to admit that her latest suicidal episode was "a cry for help." Her continued meltdown comes after a whirlwind few weeks that saw her get married to a drug counselor, split after 18 days and then apparently reunite.

O'Connor blames the negative press around her marriage to Barry Herridge for contributing to her mental illness. She claims Irish papers are running attack stories about Herridge in an attempt to get him fired as a drug counselor, even alleging that O'Connor is out trying to score drugs while Herridge tends to troubled teens.

She blames the Irish newspaper "Sunday Independent" (which is nicknamed "Sindo") directly. "The sindo article about them trying to lose barry his job and everyone being shit to him for marrying me has spun me off and I'm ill," she wrote.

Hours after her desperate pleas, O'Connor returned to say she felt "much better" and was back on her medication.
