Taylor Swift was named teen fans’ “Ultimate Choice” Sunday night—not to mention their favorite for Female Artist, Country Artist, Country Single, Breakup Song and Red Carpet Fashion Icon.

“I am so happy,” she said of her first trip to the Teen Choice Awards, as she accepted her prize, a giant surfboard. “And this is amazing.”

Though she is only 21, the country-pop superstar decided to dispense some advice.

“You know, it’s been a long time since I was a teenager, like two years,” she joked Sunday night, before adding: “When I was a teenager, I felt like we were always being stereotyped as being very intense and dramatic and passionate and hopelessly romantic and excitable, and now in retrospect I think that I need to let you know that I think all of those things are amazing things."

She told the teens, “I hope you never lose those things, and I’m so honored that you so passionately chose to give me this award.”

Swift won the Ultimate Choice Award for her "extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry.”

Previous winners of the award, which is not given out every year, include Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Another big winner on the awards show was Selena Gomez, who took two individual honors—“Choice Actress” and “Choice Hottie”—and three with her band, The Scene. One of their wins was for "Love You Like a Love Song,” which she performed.

Her beau Justin Bieber won four times, including for “Choice Male Artist,” “Choice Male Hottie,” and “Choice Twit.”

The awards show was held at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Gibson Amphitheatre and aired on Fox.

Additional nods went to “Glee,” the final two “Harry Potter” movies and some of their stars, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson. For more of the 2011 winners, see The Hollywood Reporter’s list.

Ashton Kutcher won Choice Movie Actor – Romantic Comedy for his cinematic masterpiece “No Strings Attached.”

On stage he said he’s won 14 of the awards, “or something.”

He then led the crowd in a full-throated rendition of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.”
