Kanye West Joins the Twitterverse

Kanye West, one of hip hop’s most voluble stars, may have just met the perfect medium for his restless mouth.

The eccentric rapper/producer finally joined Twitter this week reported MTV, a year after bashing the microblogging site for allowing an imposter to post under his name.

The first missive sent forth from @kanyewest was innocent enough, though it included a misspelling and wasn’t in all caps, West’s preferred method of typing on his blog.

“Up early in the morning taking meetings in Silicone Valley,” he wrote, before detecting the typo.

“Lol I spelled Silicon wrong (I guess I was still thinking about the other type of silicone ITS A PROCESS!! :),” he said in a follow up tweet.

West, who has maintained a low profile since his infamous diss of Taylor Swift at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards, is slowly creeping back into the spotlight. Last month he gave a defiant performance of new single “Power” at the BET Awards and so far this week he’s been covering his social media bases. On Tuesday he dropped in at the home offices of Facebook to debut some new material before visiting Twitter Wednesday to do the same.

He even threw his fans a juicy tidbit, revealing that he’s changing the name of his new LP.

“The album is no longer called 'Good A** Job,' " he tweeted. "I'm bouncing a couple of titles around now."

Yeezy embraced the service over the course of his first day on the site. He’s already racked up over 200,000 followers and seems to grasp the compulsive nature of the medium, too.

“Awwwww man this is addictive I might get in trouble on here!!!!” he tweeted.
