Sandra Bullock has never turned a "Blind Side" toward humanitarian crises.
It's the largest known donation made by a celebrity since the 9.0 magnitude earthquake ravaged Japan last Friday, igniting a devastating tsunami and nuclear crisis.
Bullock has made generous donations to other natural disasters. Last year she donated $1 million to earthquake victims in Haiti, and she donated tens of thousands of dollars to a public school in New Orleans destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
In 2009, the movie star was honored for her contribution to the Louisiana school by being inducted into their Hall of Fame.
"I just write the checks," Bullock said about being honored, The Huffington Post reported last year, adding she "rides the coattails of people who do amazing things."
Other big stars have encouraged support for Japan. Lady GaGa designed a white and black Japan Prayer Bracelet, in which all proceeds go to tsuname relief efforts.
