Justin Bieber could take in some serious bucks after the weekend movie box office numbers are counted.

The teen pop star’s concert movie, "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" made approximately $12 million from its opening Friday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It could surpass the mark set by "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour" film, which made $8.7 million on its opening day.

On Wednesday, "Never Say Never" had grossed $2 million from advance screenings. The movie is currently being shown in 3,105 locations, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The 3-D film documents performances by Bieber and also features home movies before the star became famous. It also includes as interviews with his handlers and shots of fans in the audience.

In his review, Mike Hale of The New York Times writes: "In the film’s best and weirdest shot [director Jon] Chu zooms in close as Mr. Bieber flings his head back and forth in slow motion, waving his famously floppy hair in a moment that’s both hilarious and creepy, especially when you’re watching in 3-D."

Bieber is in the running for two Grammys on Sunday: Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album for "My World 2.0."

Selected Readings: The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Times, Grammys Web site.
