‘SNL' Returns With Takes on Election Day, Migrant Caravan

This week's 'SNL' focused on the midterm elections and the issues surrounding them

After a short hiatus, "Saturday Night Live" opened with Kate McKinnon playing Fox News' Laura Ingraham in a sketch about the migrant caravan making its way through Mexico to America's southern border.

McKinnon was joined by Cecily Strong as Jeanine Pirro and Kenan Thompson as David Clarke. McKinnon warned of a "vicious caravan of dozens, maybe millions of illegal immigrants that's headed straight for you and your grandchildren."

Jonah Hill joined the show to host his fifth episode. In his monologue, former cast member Tina Fey welcomed him to the show's "Five-Timer Club", a club reserved for celebrities that have hosted the show five or more times.

An excited Hill met a few other "Five-Timers" in the clubhouse, though not exactly who he was expecting.

The cast also made light of the upcoming midterm elections in a mock advertisement for Democrats, who hope to make significant gains on Election Day.

In Weekend Update, Pete Davidson shared his first impressions of several candidates, including New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Vice President Mike Pence's brother, Greg Pence.

Davidson also addressed his break-up with singer Ariana Grande, calling her a very strong person and wishing her the best.

The musical guest was Maggie Rogers, a singer who gained fame after impressing Pharrell Williams with her first single "Alaska." Rogers performed a newer track called "Light On."
