Pussy Riot Speaks at Vegas' “Life is Beautiful” Festival

Masha and Nadya spoke Friday afternoon at the festival in downtown Las Vegas

Members of the dissident Russian punk group Pussy Riot who spent months in jail say freedom is a big responsibility and they're obligated to use it to speak out against injustice.

Group members Masha and Nadya spoke Friday afternoon at the Life is Beautiful festival in downtown Las Vegas.

The second annual event kicked off Friday and runs through Sunday across several city blocks. It features inspirational talks, nearly 70 musical acts, culinary demonstrations and art installations.

Masha and Nadya were arrested in 2012 after an obscenity-laced performance criticizing Vladimir Putin at Moscow's main cathedral. They spent nearly two years in prison before they were released in December.

The two have brought their message to the U.S. several times this year, including in New York and before Congress in Washington.
