No-Show Band Forces Lolla Schedule Change

The change marks the third adjustment in Saturday’s Grove stage lineup in three days.

The mud and rain may not be the cause of schedule shuffling Saturday, but a no-show band is.

Lollapalooza announced Saturday that they were canceling a performance by the experimental rap group Death Grips and their 8:45 p.m. slot on the Grove stage will be filled by Los Angeles rock band Bad Things.

The change marks the third adjustment in Saturday’s Grove stage lineup in three days.

Death Grips was reportedly a no-show for a festival after-party Friday at the Bottom Lounge.

The Bottom Lounge issued refunds for Friday's tickets.

The California hip hop and noise band was formed in late 2010 and features Stefan “MC Ride” Burnett on vocals, production and drums from Zach Hill and Andy Morin on keyboard.

According to Lollapalooza's website, Death Grips was named the most legally downloaded band on the internet for the first half of 2012, racking up an impressive 34 million downloads on BitTorrent.

The band could not be reached for comment.

Saturday’s lineup at the Grove stage was already shuffled once this week after Thursday’s cancelation of Azealia Banks’ performance due to a throat infection.
