Mike Rowe of ‘Dirty Jobs' Nails Exactly Why Trump Won Election

Add one more to the list of celebrities sounding off on President-elect Donald Trump.

In a Thursday Facebook post that has since been shared at least 123,000 times, Mike Rowe, former star of Discovery Channel's popular show "Dirty Jobs," pulled from his reality television experience and nailed down the simple reason why Trump won the election.

Rowe, responding to a fan disheartened by the election results, explained that the success of "Dirty Jobs," an off-the-cuff show that highlighted unsung manual laborers, is much like the success of Trump.

"Dirty Jobs said 'Hey - we can see you,' to millions of regular people who had started to feel invisible," Rowe wrote. "And today, that’s also why Donald Trump is the President of the United States."

Rowe continued, "The people did not want a politician. The people wanted to be seen. Donald Trump convinced those people that he could see them. Hillary Clinton did not."

Rowe is an advocate for blue-collar workers and is the CEO of the MikeRoweWorks Foundation, which he started in 2008 to help connect people with skilled jobs. Rowe also uses it to challenge, what he calls, America's "dysfunctional relationship with work."

On Friday, Rowe responded to the attention on Facebook. "I’m suspicious of all things 'trendy,' but it’s always flattering when people actually read my smack," he wrote.
