Kim Kardashian West Under Fire Again for Darkened Skin in New Photo Spread

The photos of Kardashian West appear in the new issue of Interview Magazine

Another day, another skin color controversy for Kim Kardashian West.

Just a few months after Kardashian West was accused by some on social media for allegedly darkening her skin while promoting a new makeup line, the reality TV starlet is drawing fire once again following a new photo spread in Interview Magazine where she's pictured with daughter North and touted as "America's New First Lady."

The vintage photo spread, in which Kardashian West is dressed to evoke images of former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy, quickly drew fire online where many social media users questioned Kardashian West's skin tone.

In June, Kardashian West issued an apology when there was backlash following the release of darkened images of her associated with her skin care line.

"I would obviously never want to offend anyone," she told the New York Times. "I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off. But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it."

"Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did. But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away," the reality star continued. "Definitely I have learned from it."
