1946: American actor James Stewart (1908 - 1997) as George Bailey, hugs actor Karolyn Grimes, who plays Zuzu his daughter, in a still from director Frank Capra's Christmas classic film, 'It's a Wonderful Life'.

She's one of the last surviving cast members of the 1946 holiday classic "It's a Wonderful Life." But it wasn't until the 1980's, when the long forgotten film was resurrected for television audiences, that former child actress Karolyn Grimes finally watched it to see what all the fuss was about. Nearly 70 years later - Grimes, who played the role of George Bailey's daughter Zuzu, talked with MSNBC about the iconic film that was once "just another movie."

In an interview with MSNBC Karolyn Grimes said of the iconic film:

"It's timeless because it applies to yesterday, it applies to today and it applies to tomorrow. We all have banker problems. We all have issues. We can identify with the ups and downs that poor George goes through. We can identify with the fact that his dreams that he had for himself never came true. And it also identifies with the fact that as long as we have faith, family and friends - you know what - we're good, she said."
