Chris Pratt's “Saturday Night Live” Promos: Pickle Jars, “Guardians of the Galaxy” Jokes and Sexual Advances

If Chris Pratt's "Saturday Night Live" promos are any indication for how he'll do hosting the season 40 premiere, then we're in for a big ol' treat. The "Parks and Recreation" MVP and "Guardians of the Galaxy" star partnered up with Emmy nominee Kate McKinnon to alert viewers about the new season and there were jokes. Boy, were there jokes.

McKinnon pretended to be his publicist, got all up in his grill and asked his wife Anna Faris to join them in a sexual escapade. "Never heard of her, but she's welcome to join the party. Human sexuality is a dazzling spectrum," she said.

Of course, there were jokes about his abs and ripped "Guardians of the Galaxy" body. And his "Guardians" costars Groot and Rocket Raccoon.

"I'm not a piece of meat," he said. "I feel dirty."

Stick around for their epic bleep-off and the pickle jar bit. Yes, McKinnon asked him to open several jars of pickles. "Thank you so much," she said. "I have a food-based sketch I want to run by you."

"Does it involve pickles?" he asked. "No, this is my dessert," she said and scooped up an impressive amount of pickle jars without spillage.

Ariana Grande joins Pratt as musical guest for the big premiere. The following week Sarah Silverman returns to the stage as host. She served as a cast member briefly in the early 1990s. Maroon 5 is the musical guest for Silverman and the following week Bill Hader returns to host. Hozier is his musical guest.

There will be a familiar new voice announcing "Saturday Night Live" starting with the season 40 premiere. Veteran performer Darrell Hammond will return to the show as announcer, replacing the late Don Pardo.

Fingers crossed for a new Dykes and Fats sketch and/or a new all-girl music video on Saturday. McKinnon picked up an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy series and one for co-writing the song "(Do It On My) Twin Bed." Rewatch that amazingness here.

"Saturday Night Live" airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
