Chris Hemsworth Joining “Ghostbusters” Reboot as the Receptionist

It's official: Paul Feig is our hero.

The filmmaker announced on Twitter Wednesday that none other than Chris Hemsworth will play the receptionist in his upcoming "Ghostbusters" reboot, starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as the ghoul-fighting foursome.

Annie Potts, of course, famously played the original acerbic, crushing-on-Egon "Ghostbusters" receptionist Janine Melnitz, but... if the new generation wants a receptionist with an Australian accent who can have his shirt off the whole time, so be it. And we wonder what his hobbies will be...

There's been no word back yet from Hemsworth's rep, but we're hearing that this is more than wishful tweeting on Feig's part.

The hunky actor and reigning "Sexiest Man Alive" most recently tore up the big screen in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" as Thor and his boxer-briefs-clad package helped the "Vacation" trailer go far more viral than it might have on its own. Hemsworth has also been shooting "The Huntsman," the follow-up to "Snow White and the Huntsman."

And we already know that Hemsworth has chemistry with at least one-fourth of Ghostbusters' female leads–he and McKinnon completely ran away with the show when he hosted "Saturday Night Live" this year.

Feig's "Ghostbusters" reboot has been given a July 22, 2016, release date.

OK, your move, regular-guy-version of "Ghostbusters" that's still in the works.
