Angie Harmon and Jason Sehorn Split After 13 Years of Marriage

Angie Harmon and Jason Sehorn have decided to separate after 13 years of marriage.

"For the sake of their children, they ask for respect and privacy as they navigate this time in their lives," Harmon's rep confirmed to People who first broke the news.

During a recent interview with Your Tango, the "Rizzoli & Isles" star freely admitted that marriage is nothing short of hard work.

"You have to be really considerate of each other, really kind to each other," she shared with the publication. "It's a lot of work, really."

It also didn't help that her engagement happened live on TV during an episode of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." Back in 1998, Sehorn surprised his then-girlfriend by walking out onto the stage and getting down on one knee.

Harmon's father was in the audience to watch the romantic gesture unfold while musical guest Elton John began playing a song from the movie "The Road to Eldorado."

While Harmon admitted the televised proposal added "a lot of pressure," she remembered some valuable advice Kyra Sedgwick passed on to her.

"[She] told me, 'Keep your heart where your feet are' and that's incredibly difficult to do," she shared. "It takes a lot of concentration. You've got to be conscientious of each other."

Another possible struggle in the couple's relationship was the fact that Harmon filmed her series "Rizzoli & Isles" near Los Angeles while her family was based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As the couple continues to raise their three daughters together, Harmon relies on her faith to guide her through the changing family dynamics.

"As a mother, I can't be close enough to God," she shared with Good Housekeeping. "I am always praying for protection."
