Rapper Tone Loc Free on Bail

Rapper Tone Loc, best known for the hit "Funky Cold Medina," was free on bail after being arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence in Burbank.

The 45-year-old rapper, whose real name is Anthony Smith, allegedly roughed up the mother of his child and was arrested at an apartment complex about 2:45 p.m. Saturday, TMZ.com reported.

He was being held on $50,000 bail.

Smith was released late Saturday, Burbank police Sgt. Daniel Mayreiz said.

Loc us best known for this hits "Funky Cold Medina" and "Wild Thing" both released in 1989. He has not released an album since 1991.

The rapper dabbled in acting as well, popping up in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and the Andrew "Dice" Clay vehicle "The Adventures of Ford Fairlaine." He also lent his recognizable voice to animated features like "Titan AE" and the TV series "King of the Hill."
