Tidbits: Paris' Mom Feels Sympathy for LiLo's

As struggling star Lindsay Lohan passed her presumed halfway point in jail, the mother of another once-incarcerated party girl stepped forward to commiserate with LiLo’s mom.

“I have sympathy for Dina Lohan right now,” Kathy Hilton explained to RadarOnline. “In fact, I feel bad for any parent whose child is in jail, it can be really tough.”

Kathy Hilton’s “really tough” time came in May 2007, when daughter Paris was sentenced to 45 days in jail after violating the terms of her reckless driving probation. Although Paris’ punishment included less jail time than Lindsay’s 90-day sentence, the heiress was required to serve 23 days. Lindsay’s expected to remain behind bars for about two weeks before moving on to court-ordered rehab.

“Those days when Paris was in jail were some of the most difficult of my life — it is hard for any parent to deal with,” the senior Hilton explained. “Unfortunately, if you do not follow the rules then this is what can happen — it’s part of the rules of our society.”

The Hilton matriarch assured Dina Lohan that Lindsay’s time in the slammer might prove worthwhile, as she believes the 24-year-old could learn a lot from her experience in a “small cage” at Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif.

Gosselin isn’t invited to ‘Dancing’ dinner
A privately planned dinner reunion for the cast of “Dancing With the Stars’” 10th season will be one person short. According to PopEater, reality TV mom Kate Gosselin won’t make it to the meal because the out-of-touch star simply isn’t invited.

“Her invite must have gotten lost in the mail,” an unnamed “Dancing With the Stars” insider joked. “Of course she was not invited! We all became close during and after the show except Kate, who hasn't returned anyone's calls or e-mails. You know it's bad when even creepy ‘Bachelor’ Jake Pavelka gets invited but she doesn't.”

Despite any rumors of bad blood between Gosselin and her fellow competitors during the ballroom bash, sources agreed that it’s Gosselin’s post-show silence that’s led the others to cross her off the guest list.

“Even her dance partner, Tony (Dovolani), who spent hours and hours alone with her, hasn't heard a word from her,” another insider revealed.

Bob Barker thinks Drew Carey’s wrong for ‘The Price Is Right’
It’s been three years since Bob Barker passed his microphone on to his “Price Is Right” replacement, Drew Carey, and in that time, Barker’s come to the conclusion that he prefers his own approach to the classic game show.

“Well, he does the show differently than I did,” the 86-year-old said when a TMZ cameraman asked what he thought of Carey’s version of the long-running game show. “I tried to make the show really exciting, and he doesn’t do that. He just plays the games.”

Ouch.

Barker retired from “The Price Is Right” in 2007 after 35 years behind the mike.

Dish on the fly
Now that Pamela Anderson’s one-time antifur ally Janet Jackson is the face of Blackglama furs, the former “Baywatch” babe wonders if Jackson has had a change of heart, or if she’s just gone greedy for ad revenue. “It's disappointing,” Anderson told Out magazine’s Popnography of the singer’s decision to front for fur. “She has spoken out against fur before. I don't know why some people stop listening to their heart. I guess some people get greedy, but it's sad.” … “Your Love Is My Drug” singer Ke$ha recently learned something plenty of prisoners have long known: the unsanitary art of pin-prick tattoos. “A friend of mine told me you can (create a tattoo) with pen ink and a safety pin and I was like, 'That's amazing. I could give tattoos anywhere in the world at any hotel,' ” the 23-year-old enthused in an interview with Paper magazine. “I saw this hot dude recently and I gave him a tattoo sitting in the lobby of the hotel. I was just like, 'Can I borrow a pen and a sewing kit?' I think I got an admirer out of that one.” Or possibly a tetanus victim. One or the other.
