The Situation Sues Abercrombie & Fitch

The reality star claims the clothier profited off his catchphrase even as it tried to distance itself from him

That little feud between The Situation and Abercrombie & Fitch isn't going away just yet.

The "Jersey Shore" star has just sued the retail clothing giant, claiming that when it said it had offered to pay him not to wear its clothes on the hit show, it was really seeking to profit off him.

Back in August, word was that Abercrombie & Fitch had offered to pay The Situation not to wear its clothes because it thought an association with him would damage its brand.

But The Situation's law suit says it never made him any such offer. Instead, he says, the company "embarked on a grand, worldwide advertising campaign" that used his name and catchphrase ("GTL," what else?) to sell its own products (like shirts reading "The Fitchuation") even as it disavowed an association with him. He's trademarked both his nickname and "GTL."

"The Situation" — or Mike Sorrentino, as he's known in court papers — filed his complaint Tuesday in Miami federal court, asking for $4 million in damages.

Meanwhile, in the coming issue of GQ, The Situation's co-star Snooki claims he's in financial trouble and has already blown the money he made from the show.

"I'm not going to spend money like Mike. He's already broke!" she said.

In that case, $4 million could come in handy.
