O.J. Simpson’s former lawyer will represent Lindsay Lohan -- but says the troubled starlet suffers from a “disease” and won’t receive a dream team defense.

"I have agreed to represent Ms. Lohan on the condition that she complies with all of the terms of her probation, including a requirement of jail time that was imposed by Judge Marsha Revel," Robert Shapiro told E! News on Friday.

Lohan is due to appear in court Tuesday to begin serving a 90-day jail sentence, followed by 90 days in alcohol treatment for violating the terms of her probation in a 2007 DUI case.

The 24-year-old “Mean Girls” star reportedly got a head start on treatment Wednesday by checking into Shapiro’s Los Angeles-based sober-living facility, “Pickford Lofts.”

Shapiro, who played a key role in former NFL running back O.J. Simpson's “Dream Team” murder defense in the mid-90s, became involved with substance abuse treatment following the death of his son Brent from a drug overdose in 2005.

"Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with,” Shapiro told E! on Friday. “Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan's long term recovery and sobriety.”

Lohan’s last lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, resigned without explanation earlier this month. Shapiro filed the necessary paperwork to replace Holley Friday in Los Angeles, E! reported.
