Jon “Keeps it Cordial” With Kate on Kids' B-Day

No WWIII at birthday bash

Jon Gosselin won his birthday battle -- but the war goes on.

The Ex-reality TV dad reportedly celebrated his twins daughters’ ninth birthday at the family’s million dollar Pennsylvania estate without restrictions on Thursday, after having earlier claimed that estranged wife Kate would only let him see Mady and Cara from 4 to 6 p.m.

"We kept it cordial for the kids," Jon told Usmagazine.com outside the party.

The father of eight rolled his eyes when asked about how things went with Kate.

“Fine,”he told Us.

He said he planned to stay at the home until putting the kids to bed.

Earlier this week, Jon told ET online that he was prepared for an “all-out [birthday] battle” after putting a stop to the filming of Kate's new reality show featuring the kids.

"She's trying to prevent me from seeing my kids on Mady and Cara's birthday," Jon said. "That's like giving her full custody by obeying her. She can't tell me what to do. I'm not going to allow it. I'm just going to stay. I own the house so I can do what I want."

The birthday party had been something Kate said she was looking forward to after a week in which she accused Jon of draining their joint bank account. A court hearing to resolve the matter has been postponed indefinitely after the judge’s wife died, People reported.

"Thursday is Cara and Mady's 9th birthday," Kate had told People.com. "That's my focus to get me through the next few days. I'm going to bake a chocolate cake from scratch, and that's going to feel normal and happy."

But Jon fumed about Kate's suggestion that the two keep their distance during the party. The octodad said Kate claimed it would be "too stressful" for the kids to be around both parents simultaneously.

"I would like to spit the evening so they can see us both," Kate reportedly said in an email.

Jon accused Kate of trying to drive a wedge between he and his children.

"She's trying to prevent me from seeing my kids on their birthday because she doesn't want to see me," he had fumed. "She doesn't want to hear my apology. She doesn't want to work things out."

For one day at least, the pair set aside their differences for the sake of the kids.
