James Van Der Beek Welcomes Baby Girl

Newlywed James Van Der Beek has again taken to Twitter to broadcast good news – he’s a dad.

The ex-“Dawson’s Creek” star and wife Kimberly Brook welcomed daughter Olivia on Saturday.

"Had the blessing of becoming a father over the weekend... Couldn't come close to describing this bliss even if I had 140 million characters," Van Der Beek gushed online. "I apologize in advance for any obnoxiously precious new-dad tweets that may follow. I'm under her spell."

Van Der Beek later told People mag that Olivia came into the world weighing 7lbs., 2 oz.

In August, Van Der Beek wed Brook, a business consultant, in Israel.

“Best day of my life so far," he tweeted Aug. 1. “The woman I love did me the honor of became my wife today ... I look forward to earning her for the rest of my life.”

Van Der Beek has been married once before, to actress Heather Ann McComb.

The couple finalized a divorce in March after six years together.
