Judge Changes Mark Kerrigan's Bail

Kerrigan can now live at home

Mark Kerrigan, brother of Olympian Nancy Kerrigan, might soon return home.

A judge changed his bail yesterday to allow the 45-year-old to move back in with him mother. Hiss lawyer told the judge that his family is ready to post bail his $10,000 bail to bring him home, reports People. He will also be required to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet and submit to random drug and alcohol testing.

Nancy said in an open letter last week that the turmoil “isn’t over yet, particularly with the ruling this week about the cause of my dad’s death; a ruling by the way which we think was unjustified and which we plan to help my brother fight."

The prosecutor argued against the change in Mark's bail due to "concern for the mother's safety," said District Attorney's spokeswoman Jessica Venezia.

Mark is facing charges of assaulting his father, Daniel Kerrigan, whose death was ruled a homicide last week by Middlesex, Mass., District Attorney Gerry Leone. Mark admits that he "put his hands around his father's neck and his father fell to the floor," before the 70-year-old died of a heart rhythm problem, according to the arresting officer's report.
