Kate Hudson may already sport a slim frame, but the actress claims she's dropped 20 pounds for an upcoming part as a terminally ill patient who falls in love with her doctor.

And the 30-year-old revealed one of her diet secrets involved staying away from booze.

"I love my glass of wine. I love tequila," the actress, who is dating New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, told the British version of ELLE magazine. "To be in New York for two weeks and not have one beverage, I'm not sure I've ever done that!"

Kate also revealed in the magazine that she plans to be a convert of Botox, when the time is right.

"Everyone's so obsessed with who gets Botox, but it's great! Are you kidding?" she told ELLE, according to Britain's Daily Mail. "The fact that women can avoid going under the knife and get a little Botox treat and not have to worry about it? I'm glad it's there for when it's time."

What it's not time for, however, is marriage to her slugger boyfriend. Kate said there was no truth to the rumors she was recently sporting an engagement ring.

"Did you know that it was this one, on my right hand? I hear about this and I'm like, 'Why would I even respond? What would I say if you're going to lie about something ridiculous?'" she told the mag.

"And if you really did your job, you'd look at the pictures taken that day and realize [the ring] was on my right hand," she added.
