Jessica Simpson Hinted At Break-Up With Tony Romo Before Split

Jessica Simpson seemed to know things weren't picture perfect with Tony Romo when she was interviewed for the September issue of Glamour magazine.

In the interview, conducted shortly before her split with the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, the country singer hinted things were not entirely rosy in their relationship.

"I don't know what the future holds, but I hope that my life, as it is now, doesn't change. I'm very happy and comfortable — it's a great place to be in. If this article comes out and we're not together, I'd still love him, and he'd still be a huge part of who I am today," she told the magazine.

While the quotes may hold extra resonance following the split, Jessica likely doesn't care. The star said she is cautious of criticism, but can't help being the kind of person she is – one who shares her feelings with others.

"I'm just a really open person…but if I were to say I wasn't a little bit jaded, that would be a lie," she told the mag. "I am definitely on guard. People are judging your every move, and that's why it [was] incredible to be in a nonjudgmental relationship [with Tony]. It has really helped me grow as a person."

Before her break-ups with Tony and John Mayer, Jessica endured a very public divorce with Nick Lachey in 2006. The split came after a fairytale romance that was documented on their MTV reality show, "Newlyweds."

Despite the divorce, Jessica said she would definitely walk down the aisle again.

"Definitely — I loved everything about marriage. I loved having a companion to wake up with and have barbecues with. But things happen and people grow apart," she said. "I don't really ever talk about the divorce because it was a heart-wrenching thing to go through. It's a very, very personal thing."

And she also shared how she went from the heartbreak of splitting with Nick, to turning over a positive romantic leaf.

"It was hard to imagine I would ever walk down the aisle again. It was like a death in the family: You go through the mourning stage, then the rebellion, and then all of a sudden you have to find life by yourself," she said. "Once you do that, you feel complete—and that's the only time you can truly fall in love again, and give yourself over completely to another person."

When discussing her upcoming VH1 show, "The Price Of Beauty," which will document Jessica as she travels around the world looking at what different cultures consider beautiful, the candid star also spoke out about the media's obsession with female figures.

"I absolutely, 100 percent do not agree with how the media has made everyone [body] obsessed," she said. "And they do have the power to do it. Celebrities aren't perfect. It's amazing to me how much thought is put into a woman's figure on tabloid covers."
