Jessica Simpson Breaks Silence About Dog Loss

Pop beauty open to adopting another pooch

Jessica Simpson has broken her silence since losing her 5-year-old Maltipoo Daisy to a coyote attack last September, telling Usmagazine.com that she’s finally ready to consider adopting another pooch.

In fact, the pop princess said Daisy “would want" her to meet a new furry friend.

"Daisy meant the world to me," she said. "I hold her memory very, very close. It was an unfortunate thing what happened. That I don't have her every day.”

The dog, a gift from Simpson’s ex-hubby Nick Lachey, has not been seen ever since a coyote dragged her from the “Dukes of Hazard” star’s Los Angeles backyard.

"My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes," Simpson announced on her Twitter feed after the attack. "HORROR! We are searching. Hoping. Please help!"

Despite having hired a professional pet finder and plastering the area with posters, the search was called off after about a week.

This past weekend, Simpson took to Twitter again to complain of multiple false reports to her family that Daisy had been found.

"Untrue. People are so cruel... please respect her memory," she Tweeted.

In the Us interview, Simpson said it has been hard for her to talk about her loss and that she “hadn’t really thought yet” about getting another doggie.

“But maybe sometime,” she said. "(Daisy) would want that."
