The 41-year-old motorcycle mechanic who became the world's biggest cad when he cheated on then-wife Sandra Bullock with another heavily-inked paramour has popped the question to Von D, who has her own reality TV show, "L.A. Ink." The couple began dating last summer.
"You know sometimes the public and press gets it wrong. This is one of those times," James told People magazine. "2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs.
"I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said 'yes.' Growing old with her is going to be a f----n' blast!"
Bullock and James' divorce was finalized last June. Since January, the pair have felt compelled to profess their love for each other via Twitter.
"I have never felt so loved! I'm the luckiest MoFo in the world!" James tweeted Jan. 9
Von D responded days later: "Thank you always supporting me and believing in everything I do. But most of all, thanks for being my best friend." "Thank you always supporting me and believing in everything I do. But most of all, thanks for being my best friend."
