Country Music Glamour

Singer Carrie Underwood accepts the award for Entertainer of the Year. She is the first female act to win the honor since the Dixie Chicks won in 2000 and only the seventh to do so in the show's nearly four-decade existence.

The 44th Academy of Country Music Awards bestowed its top honor on "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood during the star-studded award ceremony Sunday night, naming her entertainer of the year over veteran male performers George Strait, Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban.
